How We Do It :: Business
Process
Our process begins with you, the customer. After working with the customer
to define their need requirements our business process normally proceeds
as follows:
1. Take the order
The Customer generally has three questions:
1. Can you make it (a.k.a. Mill Capability?)
2. What will the Alloy cost?
3. What are the lead times?
As part of the inquiry process, we review the details before moving
forward. Then we move into the second step, processing the order.
2. Process the order
During this step, we enter the customer order into our order processing
and routing systems and then, to ensure accuracy, we review the details
of the order one more time.
3. Issue the instructions
Once in our systems, each customer order receives a unique job ticket
and we update our production schedule accordingly to accommodate every
order.
4. Make the product
Based on department process flows, product control plans, and specific
work instructions casting billets are produced, which then move on
to extrusion and finally on to final production of rod, wire and tubing.
5. Check against requirements
Here we inspect and test the product to make sure it meets the specific
customer order requirements. As part of that process, we produce material
test reports based on Ansonia Copper & Brass quality standards and
specific customer requirements.
6. Ship the product
Lastly we pack the product and prepare shipping papers in a timely
manner so we can be sure that we ship to customer by the required
date.
