Overview

Ansonia Copper & Brass (ACB) produces a wide variety of copper and copper alloy wire in a complete selection of sizes, tempers and finishes.

Wire diameters range from .0159" - 1.00" (.4mm - 25mm). Wire is provided in coils as large as 4000 pounds, reels up to 1000 pounds, spools, acro-pak (a reel-less coil), barrel pack and orbital coils.

Applications

- Resistance welding equipment.
- Electrodes for spot and seam welding of
cold and hot rolled steel.
- Flash welding dies.
- Welding rod and filler metal (for welding
copper and copper alloys).
- Automotive bodywork.
- Cold headed and roll threaded bolts and
screws.
- Cable connectors; pole line hardware.
- Contacts for electrical connectors.
- High strength transmission lines.
- Trolley and mining cables.

Advantages

Ansonia copper based wire is easily joinable since it may be joined by soldering, brazing, welding, riveting and bonding. In addition to its electrical and thermal conductivity and corrosion resistant characteristics, copper's ability to be easily soldered has made it an outstanding material for use in electrical connections.

ACB has the capability to analyze all alloys cast on-site both as melt control and final analyses. Methods used include X-ray and Emission Spectrometry, Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry, and Electrolytic Deposition.

Final mechanical and physical property lot testing may include Tensile properties, Hardness, Conductivity/Resistivity, Grain Size and Micro structure Examination. Performance tests include Bend, Hydrogen Embrittlement, Expansion, Flattening, and Mercurous Nitrate.
